Stig Joar Krogli

Stig Joar is General Manager at SalmoBreed Salten and is responsible for the construction project of our new landbased operation. He has been employed in SalmoBreed since 2013. Until January 2016 was sales manager for North Norway. Previous of being hired by SalmoBreed, Stig Joar was General Manager at the processing company PrimaLaks and at Ranfjord Fiskeprodukter, a smolt facility that produces 6 million smolt per year. He has also 9 years experience as Operations Manager at Helgeland Smolt. Stig Joar studied Aquaculture Technology at Bodø University College. The interest for aquaculture arose when he was in the military service and attended an aquaculture course in collaboration with the University of Tromsø.
-Fish farming caught my interest right away. I am a avid hunter and angler, and in addition I saw similarities with traditional farming. I have grown up in a farm and I still keep wild sheep.

Stig Joar’s background fits well with the building process of SalmoBreed Salten’s plant. He has been involved in building the smolt plant of Ranfjord Fiskeprodukter and through his 17 years in the industry, his niche is hatchery-produced fish for stocking.
